Drive carefully this afternoon

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up to drive with extra care this afternoon, because all the little schoolchildren who were hypnotized and brainwashed earlier today by President Svengali Obama will no doubt be wandering across streets with their minds fully focused only on turning the United States into a socialist nation. Just consider this a public service announcement.

We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone

I really liked it when the students joined Obama in a chorus of "The Internationale." And the excerpt from "Das Kapital" that he read on the class struggle was most inspiring!

That's impossible, most school kids in little Worshington and Greene County already dropped out of school or on maternity leave!

Maybe the Republicans will now call for investigations into the speech like the ones the Democrats held in 1991 after Bush the elder gave his talks to students.

But hey, it's just those crazy Republicans.

Dick Gephardt pitch a fit after H.W. Bush's speech to students... There are a few differences between then and now, though...

The investigation that followed was not on the substance of Bush's speech nor was it to his motive, necessarily, of talking to kids. Nobody cared about that... what they investigated was the department of education by the General Accounting Office since the trip (costing 26,000 dollars) was paid for by the DOE. Since the speech was so near election time, they investigated if Bush effectively used the DOE funds as political funds. The GAO found no evidence of wrong doing...

What did NOT occur, though, was nationwide pants-soiling about what the evil president was going to whisper in the naive and unsuspecting ears of the nation's youth... no, the president talking to kids wasn't controversial when Papa Bush did it.

You lie! ... No wonder the town hall meetings have devolved into a cage match brawl. True Republicans out there should be ashamed by the behavior of an elected representative in their party. I hope you have the honor to condemn U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson's unsavory comment.

It is also time to drive carefully today, around the Point in Pittsburgh. On school time, Pittsburgh students will be part of the football hoopla, testing out the ESA video at the Point.

Now tell me, how can so many get excited about being sure to watch the speech, and two days later let school students skip school for football? There was much outrage among the citizens for those suggesting students skip the speech. Where is the outrage against having school students participate in something so trivial as a football event?

It tells me our priorities regarding education are all screwed up.

Now, be sure to watch out for those students as they hurry from the classroom to the Point. They too may have a glare in their eye.

BUSH LIED AND PEOPLE DIED

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have called Bush and the CIA liars from the senate floor. To me that is worse than an outburst. Did any of yins see the fact check on the speech? Not real good.

Or, when the Dems booed Bush during a state of the union speech. I know you're young MJ, but you should at least do a little research.
I'm not saying what the rep did was right, but this kind of stuff has really gone to another level in the past 10 years.
You can disagree with the president, but you should still respect the office. That was my big problem with the Dems during the previous administration. I didn't agree with Bush all the time, but he was the president.
Once you open the door to disrespect the office, don't cry when your guy is disrespected as well.

Which State of the Union address are you specifically referring to, Dale?

2004 and 2005 when the Dems booed Bush for suggesting they should renew the PATRIOT Act and alter Social Security. Booing and yelling "No" are different than yelling to the president, "You lie!"

And I know I'm younger than you, Dale, but I'm old enough to remember when Bush told the Congress in 2003 that Saddam Hussein was acquiring yellow cake uranium from Niger. Do you remember that, Dale? Too bad no one shouted, "You lie!"

Oh jeez, I can't wait... I posted this comment on the "Two Political Junkies" blog today:

"Just wanted to add... the video is of a 2005 SOTU address... Bush had effectively been a "bad" president for about 5 years at that point...

Obama has been president for 8 months and has yet to have 3k civilians killed on his watch, hasn't led us to war with a country that does not possess the weapons that are the prime reason for going to war, has not given away a budgetary surplus in tax breaks, has not purposefully understaffed a war in a country where we ARE justified in being, has not drawn an arbitrary and illogical line in the sand (with us or against us), and has not actively sought to repeal our 4th amendment rights, actively sought legal loopholes that would permit torture, nor has he screwed a generation of children by passing every child left behind...

After 5 years... maybe some catcalls will be justified. Not that it matters to Wilson, he won't be a congressman at that point."

It being 9/11 and all reminds me where George Bush was when the attacks happened. That’s right he was in a classroom with some children and to think I am a republican.
