This just in: Obama wants to eat our dogs and rape our cats

I watch a fair amount of comedy programming on television. Let's face it, life can be tough, and a few laughs don't hurt. But the funniest thing I've seen in ages was a commercial I caught last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxFC9Af3W1U In fact, I was laughing out loud, even though I don't think it was intended to produce that response. The ad in opposition to health-care reform was paid for by the Family Research Council. The group was founded by noted hatemonger Rev. James Dobson. I went to the FRC Web site, and for the life of me, I couldn't find any actual research. Perhaps they just periodically ask their followers if they still love Jesus and hate Obama. But back to the ad. It features an elderly couple sitting at a kitchen table and looking like they'd just eaten a truckload of cat droppings. The guy is holding a piece of paper that looks as if it came from the government. He says, "They won't pay for my surgery. To think that Planned Parenthood is included in the government-run health-care plan, and we’re spending tax dollars on abortion. They won't pay for my surgery, but we’re forced to pay for abortions." Pretty nifty how they managed to stuff the word "abortion" into the ad twice within five seconds. At that point, it looks as if he's going to get down on the floor and writhe about. Then, the voice of a breathless woman says, "Our greatest generation denied care. Our future generation denied life." She asks that you call your senator to make sure this reform effort is stopped in its tracks. As I understand it, no one is going to be required to sign on with a plan that covers abortions. And do these people really think that there are not already health insurance companies that cover abortions? Also, if you don't like the public option that could come to fruition, don't choose it. And if you don't want an abortion, don't have one. Honestly, I hadn't seen this much hysteria, fearmongering and misinformation in a 30-second ad since the Bush re-election campaign in 2004. And, lo and behold, I heard last night that the old "turd blossom" himself, Karl Rove, has signed on to help the Republicans kill health-care reform. I'm sure more great comedy programming lies ahead.

My favorite government healthcare scare is the rumor that end of life care actually means euthanization of the elderly. We're a food shortage away from Soylent Green.

You my friend are delusional if you can not connect the dots. Sold us out to the bankers and we are not allowed to know where that money went. Obama care, czars ect

Here is something that is not made up. My employer pays about $15,000 a year to insure me and my family, up about 7 percent last year. At that rate, the amount will double in less than 10 years.

What do you think small business is going to do? Keep paying? At some point, my boss is going to say, here's $10,000, go find your own coverage.

You have a better idea than Obama? Fine, let's hear it. If all you have are scare tactios, I ain't listening.

They call the left the side with no responsibilities for a reason. If you want better health care, I SAY YOU BUY IT! I don't want to pay for your health care. That is my idea, that is my plan! JFK would have loved my plan.

It's not your country can do for you! It's what you can do for your country!

I'm tired of all the liberals wanting to suck off the govt. That isn't what the govt is for. Hell buddy why work? Your employer has to pay you, so you should stop working for him and get a welfare check and food stamps too, cause the Govt will pay for it?

Notice where your employer lives, what he drives and where he goes on vacations. I'm going to tell you a little insider info. If it's a company that has skilled labor, then I bet he can afford to pay for health care, he just doesn't want to.

Health Care isn't a right yet! I hope I never have to pay for your health care!

65 years old and need a new hip? 200,000 grand? do the math... you ain't worth it? Die? Not on my time, go to hell! I don't want Uncle Sam telling me if I'm worthy of a hip or cancer treatment.

Imagine for a moment that your friend is not insured and has an appendicitis attack. What do you think the bill would be? $5,000?$10,000? Who do you think pays for that? The hospital?

You do, in the form of higher medical costs for everything. You're already paying for it.

And you don't even realize it.

Maybe so we pay more for non payments. I think you might be right. That also keeps cost down. Think about that!

I'm just going to go back to the old saying of "the world needs ditch diggers too".

Then also the world needs a photo editor at the OR making 24k a year thinking he is rich. Hell maybe he might make 48k a year..I don't care.. still white trash to most, and me.

He should try to live in my area, our houses start at 289k! Think a photo guy from the OR can handle that bill?

If your gay and get AIDS, should I have to pay for your health care? NO.

If you weigh 350 lbs and won't stop eating and your heart blows out, should I pay for you being stupid? NO.

What about the stunt guys and motorcross racers... when they break a leg or arm should I have to pay for them taking that risk? Why hasn't anyone brought up these facts? No, what you read about is the left, right game.

I think when it comes down to it, you wouldn't want to pay for someones smoking habits and I don't either. Just like people in Greene County hooked on herion and get welfare and ss for being stupid.

I have a dr close to my house, only thing he does for me is to help me maintain a normal bp. Every senior in this town goes to that man. I wait 3 hrs sometimes just to see him on a 5 min visit. Now, if everyone gets health care and they pile up in his office.. how long am i going to wait? how long will it take to get an appointment? I'd rather pay for my own health care, like I do now. You are using a self-defeating argument. Let me see if I have this right... If everyone has coverage, doctors will be overrun with new patients, right? So, right now, there must be millions of people NOT going to those doctors because they don't have insurance, right? That's millions of people developing chronic conditions, letting treatable conditions become life threatening, and every day getting closer to an emergency room visit... Which you are going to pay for.

Supply and demand works for the labor market, too. There will be quite a demand for new doctors to service all those new patients.

You are delusional. Medicare doesn't pay the doctors and hospitals what they ask for. they have a limit on everything. if they accept to take medicare or tricare they have agreed to the limits.

Just like your pvt insurance. The people without insurance are the ones that pay full price. So if everyone gets on a medicare type system (which is broke) doctors will take a huge hit in their pockets. Who would want to become a doctor that can't even pay for his student loans? Sure the doctors will have more patients, but there isn't enough time in a week to see everyone. SUPPLY AND DEMAND. So yeah you talk about preventive medicine.. can't be so preventive if you can't get to the doctor. Hey BOB you have cancer, it's in it's early stages... we can cure it if we can get you in for treatment. 8 mths later you might get the first treatment. Cause you had to stand in line. Bob sorry the cancer is in your liver now, nothing we can do. Happens everyday in those hip cool other moderen countries that have 50% + take rates. either you get or you don't, but if it passes you will get it sooner or later. might be on your death bed, but you will get it one day. Sorry Bobby, I just don't agree with Obama care.

I don't have to say everything is bad about OBAMA. I say Obama will have great numbers for Aug. Cash for clunkers was a good idea, and the timing of it was great, about the sametime everyone is buying school clothes. Sales will be up, but it will be short lived. His numbers will do good for Aug no doubt.

Ok... so what are your basic arguments?

1. Care will be worse with "socialized medicine"

1a. I have repeatedly shown where life expectancies are higher in places with socialized medicine.

2. It will cost more.

2a. I have also shown where it costs roughly HALF, per person, for medical expenditures in countries with a socialized health care system.

3. There won't be enough doctors.

3a. You ALMOST have an argument there... but as of 2002, the US was 3rd in the number of physicians per 1000 people... behind Cuba and Italy.

The number of doctors we produce has a lot to do with the number of people we produce who are capable of being doctors... there aren't a lot of people choosing between an MD and a CDL license. If you have education sufficient to produce people who can competently do surgery, you will have plenty of doctors.

The existing doctors will have a lot more time to see patients if we don't have them running test in triplicate, also... another benefit of an electronic records requirement.

As far as August numbers perking up due to back to school buying... that trend is figured into projections. People do back to school shopping the same time every year.

The United States is ranked 37th in quality of healthcare. France, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, all have nationalized healthcare and all rank higher than the United States. Less developed countries such as Costa Rica, Chile and Columbia all have higher rated healthcare systems than we do. I'm not advocating nationalizing healthcare here, but two things are clear: we don't have superior healthcare in this country, and the horror stories about socialized medicine don't match with the data.

Easy to reproduce. Looks like I took a photo of a photo and posted it. It's easy Mr. (so called) President. Produce your vault. Berry spent 800,000 dollars hiding a 12 dollar birth record.

My first question on the whole birth thing before I tear Obama care apart here... is why doesn't he show the vault? I mean hell, he could shut everyone up with his vault from the island. You have a respected attorney that has produced a vault from Kenya, and no vault from the islands. Second question.. why is there forms floating around that his daddy signed him up for a shcool in Indonesia at a time that kids couldn't go to school if they wasn't of muslim faith and a citizen? If you want to say he was born here, yet he went to a school that only took citizens and muslim faith, did he give up his USA citizenship? YES. Either way the man is hosed.

This might be the longest post ever. I start my vacation tomorrow, so I have an adult drink in my hand .. so bare with the typos if any.

1. The Dem's have enough to people to pass Obama health care, why don't they just vote and pass it? 7 Blue dog's don't agree why? WHY!? You should call your Congressmen and ask him if it's good enough for us, why are they not on it too!

2. I think I would support a co-op bill faster then a give me. Hey we all work hard, well most of us.. if you work, and your insurance doesn't pick up something.. yeah I agree..then the govt should pick up the slack.

3. I know everyone thinks this is going to be a free health care system. It isn't. Do we want to RAISE taxes in recession? Huge contridiction, we need reform not handouts.

4.Bob you will love this.. CBO says it will drive up health care cost by the trillions. You know CBO. The plan infront of the Senate dosen't save money, it increases it by 200 billion a year.

I don't hate ya for having a diffent view. You really do help me learn, and I enjoy that. You have to open up your mind as much as I do. Please take care of you and yours!

if that is the case, then MY god put me here to stoke the fire, better do my job or MY God will hate me?

Where did all the war protestors go?

Why do we have czars now in America? That run programs like clunkers for cash? Why do these czars have a say so in things like cap and trade? Green jobs?

I always thought of Chicago land politics was a bad thing!? I'm I wrong here? Looks like Obama has taken a bunch of his buddies that are felons and convicts, made them czars and Dems love their commie and socialist ideas. One is a felone and self admitted commie.

Why is it you see a bunch of old people at these town hall meetings telling their congressmen they don't want their healthcare? Look at Medicaid! That is what your healthcare system will become, BROKE! You want to see proof that the US GOVT can't run health care? Just look at medicaid!

Gov't insurance would allow coverage for abortion

READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!

I don't think the GOVT should tell you what a woman should do with her body, but I don't want to pay for it!!

So your argument has devolved into ranting from the rooftops?

Let's assume that a public option would pay for abortions... Is that reason enough to deny people the option of public coverage?

I can speak till I'm blue in the face Bob, you can't see the forrest cause you don't want to.

I don't know if I would call Obama a socailist or a fascist. He falls in those lines so easily.

I see all these people with acorn and the unions that was protesting, whatever ever happen to those organized protestors? You know the ones with all the same t shirts, and fancy signs?

Yet the White House puts out a memo about "fishy talk" turn in your neighbors to inform@whitehouse whatever. who cares.

I don't see organized protestors at these town hall meetings. I see someones grandfather and mother asking their congressmen and women about the health care bill and saying no to it. They are bad right? Can you please wake up? It's all smoke and mirrors, people told the elected officals what the wanted in almost every poll, and they have ignored them. I think the last person to underestimate the american people was Saddam, before that Hitler and Japan.

You know, I wonder what all the pot smoking hippies are going to think when Berry passes this bill and the federal insurance won't support medical pot! Nancy Pelosi will be kicked out of her seat fast!

I think it's time for the pot heads to fight any form of welfare care from Berry.

Dr. Exekiel Emanuel, brother of Rahm Emanuel and Obamas Health Policy Adviser would love to kill off the old people. He wrote about. Ellipses, you seem like a smart guy, read about that NAZI.

He has papers on tree's should be able to sue babies for Christ sakes.

You know that their is only rationing when there is a shortage. Well when there is a shortage of money, there will be a rationing of medicine and Doctors. Why Doctors? Over night there will be 60,000 million more people and 0 more doctors. CBO said America couldn't afford this health care. So when there is a shortage of money, there will be rationing. Who gets to decide who gets what treatment? Do you want Dr. Exekiel Emanuel telling you that you're to fat to get health care? Or to old? Dr. Exekiel Emanuel is a pure eugenics nazi.

You obviously did not read Emmanuel's writing on the subject... rather you regurgitate what you heard on the radio.

But, nonetheless, I will make a notation in my "Obama Doomsday Book."

What would you like it to say? We will kill people to save money?

Should I put that entry in before or after our guns are seized?

Here is the funny thing Ellipses, I don't care if they pass a eugenics health care system. I have one of those "cadillac health insurance plans" that Berry wants to tax.

You have to ask, why would he want to tax my health care insurance? hmmmmm? Take from the workers and give to the poor. Berry is going to make pvt insurance so expensive, only the ultra rich will be able to afford it. While everyone else is on Berry care, ever hear your grandfather bitch about not being able to afford medicine or a test that he needs cause medicare won't pay for it?

You said something like, your health care went up 17% this year? What if they pass Berry care. It will go up atleast 80% cause everyone will drop what they got and get the free stuff.

I want you to put that in your doomsday book AFTER Dr. Exekiel Emanuel knocks of your parents.

Why stop at health care? I want them to pay for my dental!!! I was a soldier, I never smoked in my life, for many reasons.. but I do dip. Wonder if Berry will pay for my actions.

Ellipses, sometimes more govt is just that, more govt. Our forefathers wanted a small govt. so be it.

I know a state run health care system wouldn't work in US. Based on the facts that we have the 2nd highest unemployment rate(compared to France, Canada, U.K, China, Russia, Switzerland), highest migration rate (that is reported) and the largest population. We are already broke! Ellipses, take all the money of your bank account and go to Wal Mart and buy a new computer. If the country is broke how can we afford Health care? Don't we need a surplus before we take on more? Call me crazy!

Before we even think we could provide Health care to our citizens we must stop illegal's crossing the boarders. We also have to rethink nafta. Lets bring back our jobs to our shores. We didn't become the greatest nation on earth ever by off shoring our jobs cause it was cheaper for the corp. offices. We have corporations that are making record breaking profits while the neighbors of the people running these corporations are starving.

I'm far from a nut, I just don't think we should be spending more then we can afford.

Two solutions in there...

First, once the initial transition/start up costs are out of the way, we begin to reap the cost benefits of a substantially cheaper system. As I have said before, other countries with central health care pay half as much as we do per capita, and a lower % of GDP than us.

Second, we need to simplify the tax code so that people ACTUALLY have to pay taxes at the rate defined. At this point, you could make the top marginal tax rate 90%... it's arbitrary, nobody pays the top rate. There are so many loopholes and so many different types of income that nobody in the top bracket has to pay that rate. I would bet that if I won the powerball, after the initial tax bite, I would be able to pay a lower marginal % of my income in taxes than I do now. Municipal bonds, dividends, buy a small farm, etc... bottom line, I won't be paying thirty-anything percent.

And as a side note, I really don't have a beef with illegal immigrants. I wish them the best.

Ellipses, ask California how illegals are helping their state.
B R O K E

As a broke nation, I just don't see how we could afford to take on health care. Just can't do it. It was a nice thought!

Let's use all the seized guns to kill everyone who can't afford health care. Two problems solved.

California's "broke-ness" has less to do with illegal immigrants than it does on the way the legislature is set up in terms of generating revenue for the state. I don't see Texas having the same budgetary problems as California, despite having an immigrant population that is arguably worse off economically and socially than that of California...
